Those who have signed this petition are asking for authorities to urgently adopt concrete measures to protect the health of the public against the serious threat posed by the presence of harmful toxic substances in many materials and products used in homes.
Chemical pollution in the home is a serious public health problem that needs immediate action, especially considering that the Western world spends on average about 90% of their time indoors, particularly in the home.
We are exposed to toxic substances that are present in our homes, in construction and decoration materials, insulation, paints, coatings, plastics, cleaning products, household pesticides, air fresheners, cleaning and personal hygiene products, tap water, food etc.
At the moment, very little is being done to protect the public, especially those who are the most vulnerable to this problem such as pregnant women or children.
This serious problem has mostly been caused by the inefficient control of design and marketing of chemicals.
